Phase 1 – Capital Campaign – 2020-2021 ($1,048,166 / $1,048,166)
*UPDATE* Phase 1 capital campaign is now closed, as the funding has been completed! Thank you if you donated! You can still donate to Phase 2 if want to donate for the first or tenth time!
The capital campaign for Schoolhouse Park started in August, 2020 by Mayor McCord, in the midst of a global pandemic. This campaign has raised over $600,000 for Schoolhouse Park. This included 67 private residents, and 29 businesses / non-profits within and around the Village of Covington.
Original Phase 1 – $823,000 (PDF)
The original Phase 1 included three main elements – a splashpad, restrooms, and an amphitheater.
Current Phase 1 – $1,046,166
The updated Phase 1 (which changed based on the updated Master Plan), includes two of the three original elements, with the amphitheater currently slated in Phase 2, unless the Village is fortunate enough to obtain a $500,000 grant through the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) Grant, which was applied for in November 2021. If the Village is fortunate enough to obtain the LWCF grant, than the amphitheater will be added to Phase 1 increasing the total initial investment to at least $1,298,000.
