Highlights of Project:

From April 5 – July 14 project was completed, almost two months ahead of schedule.

This project set the Village up for the High Street Construction project slated for 2022.

What:

The High Street Utility Project. This project has been planned for many years and will replace water, sewer, and storm sewer lines along High Street. This project is intended to update the infrastructure along High Street in preparation for the High Street Roadway Construction / Replacement project that is slated for 2022.

When:

April 2 – September 1, 2021. This projected timeline is hopefully going to be shortened, but much of the schedule is based on weather and what the contractor finds when they are replacing the lines.

Where:

The project will be phased along High Street. Within each phase, individual blocks will be closed as work is being completed in that area. A map will be created and updated to this page that shows the block closures. The official detour for the project is listed by ODOT here. The two detours are listed as:

  • SR 41 Closure – Detour: I-75 to U.S. 36
  • High Street Closure – Detour: S.R. 718 to S.R. 721 to U.S. 36

The project is going to be completed Phase 2, Phase 3, than Phase 1, due to the asphalt plants not being scheduled to be opened until mid-April.

  • Phase 1 – Includes Dodd Street to Bridge Street
  • Phase 2 – Includes Bridge Street to Broadway (US 36)
  • Phase 3 – Includes US 36 to Face Street

Why:

This project is necessary to allow the Village to improve aged and failing infrastructure under High Street before the roadway is completely replaced. By completing this project in 2021 it is hoped that we will not need to cut holes into the new pavement and sidewalks that are being completed in 2022.
